April 17, 2010 Amber B. Campbell on Spring Break on the Haitian Riviera
Stepping on to the beach of the Haitian Riviera in Haiti was like stepping into a hidden paradise. The hot sand between my toes and the warm breeze off the ocean seemed to carry me away to a place of such peace and tranquility. I watched the sunset off on the horizon, the perfect golden hues from the sinking sun cast a romantic glow across the beach.
I closed my eyes and let the last rays of sunlight warm my face, as the sound of the waves crashing over the beach filled my ears. It was like listening to gods lullaby gently soothing my body and soul into a perfect relaxation. This beautiful place was so breathtaking and pure. One way I would look and see a beautiful never ending blue sky that met the turquoise waters blending together both heaven and earth, then turn my head and just gaze, stunned at the majestic beauty of the mountains.
It felt so surreal to be gazing at such untainted perfection. Being on the beaches of Haiti took me to a place where I could escape the pressures and stresses of daily life, surrender to the quiet and relaxation Haiti has to offer on its non-crowded beaches. A place of perfect personal leisure and quiet relaxation all in one. The food is an experience. To taste the Haitian food, its so delicious and wonderful, the buffets here are all you can eat, and then some. The people are friendly warm and welcoming ready to serve your every need and take very good care of you. Traveling to Haiti was a mental escape, one I will never forget. I look forward to returning to this hidden paradise very soon. The time I spent there was relaxing and refreshing, it took me away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life, let me escape to the sun and the sand. Everything is so pure and untouched, so quiet and refreshing, I can't wait to return, to the Haitian Riviera in Haiti.
